Carrera Glasses
The Story
The company made a name for itself in the 1950’s; it was recognised for developing sports eyewear such as glasses and goggles, and even helmets. In the 1980’s the company launched their first models of prescription eyewear; this was a huge success as sportsmen were able to select a brand they trust in terms of quality, safety and functionality. Today, Carrera is a synonym of technology, safety, innovation and design.
The Company's Philosophy
The brand's philosophy is built upon their motto ‘After all, No regrets’. The brand believes that as humans, we should live our lives to the fullest; do all the things we want to do without hesitation. The dynamic personality of the brand is well reflected in their eyewear but also, well reflected in their manifestos. The campaigns looked at young, fun-loving individuals who live for the moment, always accompanied by their Carrera eyewear.
Eyewear Collection
Carrera glasses are modern, bold, yet still keeping in touch with its classic, sport-inspired roots. Some of the optical models are unisex which means they can cater to men’s and women’s needs. The models are easy to wear and most will suit all face shapes so you don’t need to worry about the little things. In the brand’s collection, the Champion range is the most popular by far. Lead singer of Gym Class Heroes, Travie McCoy is seen wearing his Champion sunglasses in his latest music video.
Optyl Plastic
Optyl plastic is different from ordinary thermoplastic i.e. acetate. It is 20% lighter and more resilient than acetate or other standard plastic materials used in eyewear production. The surface has a really smooth surface finish. A special coating is also applied to the Optyl plastic which helps it to repel sweat and cosmetic products from sticking onto the frames. Plastic is also a non-allergenic material which means it doesn’t react with the skin’s chemical balance.
