The Dsquared Story
Dsquared is the creation of two Canadian twin brothers, Dean and Dan Caten. Having a keen interest in fashion, the brothers decided to move to Italy in 1993 to pursue their love of fashion and their dream of becoming internationally-known designers. Their well-known motto is “Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy”. Their fashion style combines American glamour with fine Italian tailoring which offers something different to the cosmopolitan trendsetters.
In 1999, the duo successfully achieved their goal of delivering a ready-to-wear collection show in front of a whole cast of A-list celebrities. Ciara, Rachel Zoe, Lenny Kravitz, and the Hilton sisters are big fans of the Dsquared brand. The Caten brothers launched their first eyewear collection in 2008. Dsquared Eyewear offers a contemporary approach to fashion. The optical collection caters to the male and female audience.
With a wide selection of choices from colours, to frame shapes, to frame materials. You will find more plastic frames in the brand’s collection. This is because plastic frames are trendy and modern. Plastic is a material that’s easier to design with as manufacturers can do more with it than they can with metal in terms of manipulation. Special colouring effects, patterns, tortoise shell effect, or a transparent finish can only be achieved by using plastic.
Your Lens Choices
The models in this collection can be fitted with the main types of lens material; 1.5, 1.6, 1.67 and 1.74 indexes. The right lens material for you will depend on your prescription range. If you are still not sure, here’s a quick guideline:
1.5 Lenses - Great for those who have a low prescription range (PLANO to +/- 3.00)
1.6 Lenses - Ideal for those with a low to mid-range prescription (+/- 3.00 to +/-5.00)
1.67 Lenses - For those who have a mid-range to high prescription (+/-5.00 to +/-7.00)
1.74 Lenses - These lenses are ideal for those with a high prescription (over +/- 5.00)
