Italian fashion house Gucci is renowned worldwide for its fashion authority, fine craftsmanship and quality and the Gucci eyewear collection features the same exclusivity. World class luxury, Italian heritage and modern style are the key elements of the Gucci frames design.
The Gucci History"Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten" - Aldo Gucci
Steeped in glamour, famed for fashionable yet timeless products, loved by movie stars and bequeathed to future generations - few fashion houses can boast as much mystique as Gucci. Founded in Florence in 1921, by Guccio Gucci, his vision for the brand was inspired by London. He wanted to create leather goods that had a sophisticated appeal but with Italian craftsmanship and flair which can only be achieved by his local Tuscan artisans. In the 1950’s, the green-red-green web icon became an internationally recognised hallmark of the brand.
Up until the turn of the millennium, Gucci heavily relied on its equestrian inspiration which brought them global success. Under the creative direction of Tom Ford the Gucci brand has been reinvented in a new light, fusing together history and modernity. Gucci has long been inspired by distinguished women of beauty – actresses, princesses and socialites. Today, the fashion brand is guided creatively by a similar sort of heroine: Frida Giannini, a Roman whose taste, imagination and panache have driven this storied label to even greater heights.
Gucci Eyewear Collection
The eyewear collection is aimed at customers who are fashionable, glamorous, and appreciate fine quality and Italian craftsmanship. This is a multi-brand luxury company so the brand's eyewear collection is very exclusive. Only a handful of carefully selected retailers are authorised to stock the frames. Some of the brand’s best selling models include the GG 1037, GG 1006 or the GG 3573. The men’s Deluxe collection has a classic yet cutting-edge appeal. The frames are more squared to really contour and highlight the wearer’s face shape. The metal T-Bar logo on some of the models provides an eye-catching look. The strong personality of the design is enhanced by the brand’s stylish heritage.
Sustainable Luxury & Eco-friendly Frames
Gucci takes a stand on sustainable luxury. The brand has committed to being environmentally responsible since 2011; this is when the brand launched its first collection of eco-friendly optical frames and sunglasses. In 2012, they announced the introduction of their new eyewear collection which is 100% recyclable. The optical and sunglasses frames are made completely out of a biodegradable liquid wood material. The outer packaging is also made smaller which uses fewer resources and can also be recycled.
