History Of The MMJ Collection
In 1986, fashion designer Marc Jacobs started up his first collection under the 'Marc Jacobs' label. It wasn't until 2001 that Marc decided to bring out a secondary line called 'Marc by Marc Jacobs'. This collection was to become the baby sister label of the brand. He launched the secondary collection with a runway show to show off the fun and playful identity of the label. By this time, Marc had already won 7 awards, including Womenswear Designer of the Year, Menswear Designer of the Year, and Accessories Designer of the Year awards.
2007 Eyewear Collection
The MMJ (Marc by Marc Jacobs) label launched their first eyewear collection for both sun and optical in 2007. In this same year, the label also launched their first fragrance 'Daisy' and opened a menswear and womenswear store in London. The first eyewear collection consisted of some classic styles such as the aviators, rectangle, and over-sized round frames. The brand's identity is sporty-glamour. The designs are very luxurious looking and made from high quality materials but the look of the frame is relaxed, playful and casual when compared to the Marc Jacobs label.
New Collection Just In!
The MMJ label has 2 sunglasses collections and 2 optical collections and have just launched their latest collection. The latest Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses collection has some really unique and playful styles. Most of the sunglasses are made from colourful acetate frames and are inspired by the 1980's look. Expect bright colours, colour-block combinations and funky patterned frames. The super-hot animal print sunglasses will be a massive hit with fashionistas, trendsetters and those who love to look glamorous in their eyewear.
If you prefer a more romantic, feminine, soft look there's plenty of pastel-shade sunglasses to choose from too. These luxury sunglasses are less likely to loads of unwanted attention but the beauty of the frame will still be appreciated by others. Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses are only made from the best acetate material which is usually derived from organic sources i.e. cotton flowers. There are metal frames available with the brand's sunglasses collection however these frames usually tend to be the aviator sunglasses.
