Impact Protection
All of Oakley’s eyewear passed the US sunglasses standard (ANSI Z87.1: 2003) for UV protection and the FDA standard (CFR 801.410) for impact resistance testing using a steel ball bearing.

Oakley also tests for high mass impact by dropping a metal spike weighing more than 1lb (0.45 kilograms) from over 4ft (1.2 metres) vertically onto the eyewear. Oakley carries out these tests to ensure that their eyewear consistently provides its wearers with the highest level of safety.
