Oakley Prescription Sunglasses
Jim Jannard is the founder of Oakley. His first invention of revolutionary eyewear Eyeshades® became such a big success that even professional athletes were after his eyewear inventions. Leading athletes including Greg LeMonde and Lance Armstrong demanded the performance and protection which can only be offered by Eyeshades®.
“I always knew we would succeed. That comes from believing in what you’re doing, and striving to do it better than anyone thought possible.” – Jim Jannard
Jannard continued to develop and redefine sport eyewear with each design bettering the last. His designs have been awarded with more than 600 patents worldwide which ensures the protection of his closely-guarded technologies.
Oakley prescription sunglasses are available with many of the all-time bestselling models:
For Women – Beckon, Commit, Confront, Discreet, Fringe
For Men – Dispatch II, Fast Jacket, Fuel Cell, Holbrook, Pitbull
For sportsmen and athletes who require the most advanced level of sports optimising technology but have a prescription range, the brand had designed a special patented technology for their sunglasses. True Digital™ provides you with sharper peripheral vision and clarity without distorting the lens vision.
All of the company's eyewear passed the US sunglasses standard (ANSI Z87.1: 2003) for UV protection and the FDA standard (CFR 801.410) for impact resistance testing using a steel ball bearing.
Tests for high mass impact are also conducted by dropping a metal spike weighing more than 1lb (0.45 kilograms) from over 4ft (1.2 metres) vertically onto the eyewear. These tests are carried out to ensure that their eyewear consistently provides its wearers with the highest level of safety.
Sport, Active Or Lifestyle?
The models are divided into three categories; sport, active, and lifestyle. The names are pretty self-explanatory.
If you are a professional athlete or sportsmen, you’re going to want the sport range for the best performance. If you regularly exercise to keep active, the active range would be ideal for you as it offers you a great range of technology but not at the level sporting professionals require.
If you like the brand, want to experience what Oakley has to offer, or simply demand protection for your eyes from a leading eyewear brand, the lifestyle range is right for you.
